Crypto Analyst: XRP Flash Crash Imminent. Here’s Why

Market commentator ExtraVod has issued a new warning about XRP, stating that a flash crash is imminent. According to him, current conditions suggest the asset may face a sharp downward move before any meaningful recovery. His remarks follow several days of price weakness, as XRP has gradually retreated from the rebound that pushed it to $2.21 on December 4. Since then, the asset has slipped to about $2.03, a decline that may only represent the early stage of a broader correction. Market Liquidations and Volatility In his video , ExtraVod highlighted rising liquidations across the crypto market. Citing The Kobeissi Letter, he noted that $200 million in positions were wiped out within four hours on December 5 after Bitcoin briefly fell below $90,000. XRP FLASH CRASH IMMINENT — ExtraVOD (@ExtraVOD_) December 5, 2025 Although BTC later steadied near $89,500, Coinglass data showed liquidations climbing to $412.6 million over 24 hours, mostly from long positions. ExtraVod said this sharp increase reflects a stressed market and creates conditions where a sudden, disruptive move becomes more likely as liquidity clusters and traders remain overexposed. Is a Flash Crash Coming? A central part of ExtraVod’s argument comes from the recent behavior of XRP’s price structure. He highlighted that since April 2025, the asset has formed a sequence of higher lows during each corrective phase. XRP bottomed near $1.61 in early April, around $1.77 in October , then near $1.81 in late November, and finally at approximately $1.98 at the start of December. While this pattern may appear constructive, ExtraVod believes these levels have become too narrow and have attracted an excessive number of stop-loss orders. He contends that this cluster of liquidity below each successive bottom creates an incentive for market makers to drive the price downward in order to clear these positions. Even so, he does not view the scenario as entirely negative. He maintains that once this liquidity is removed, XRP could break free and establish a more stable foundation for upward momentum . Additional Bullish Signals ExtraVod also highlighted XRP’s weekly RSI, noting what he considers a hidden bullish divergence . He explained that XRP formed a higher low on price after its November 2024 bottom near $0.5, while the RSI set a lower low, falling from about 44 and potentially dropping below 30 if a flash crash occurs. He believes this pattern suggests the broader uptrend remains intact. If a flash crash pushes the RSI into oversold territory, XRP could rebound from that level and eventually move toward new highs once volatility settles.
